Gov’t readies regulation, infrastructure to support JKP Program

The Ministry of Manpower has readied regulations, infrastructure, and supporting facilities for implementation of the Job Loss Insurance (JKP) Program to be launched in February 2022.

“The implementation of JKP will be digital-based. To this end, the Ministry of Manpower has prepared various aspects, including regulations related to JKP, and is readying IT infrastructure facilities to integrate with the Health and Social Security Agency, such as BPJS Kesehatan (Health) and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Manpower),” Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Manpower Chairul Fadhly Harahap told ANTARA on Friday.

Harahap remarked that information on JKP and benefits of the program would later be accessible through the JKP page in the Employment Information System (Sisnaker).

On that page, potential beneficiaries can obtain information, such as requirements to receive JKP benefits that include cash assistance and access to information on job opportunities and job training.

“On this JKP landing page, beneficiaries can find whether they are eligible to receive JKP benefits. They can also process to get cash benefits, conduct self-assessment, seek counseling, look for job vacancies, and receive training program recommendations,” he stated.

JKP is a social security program for workers participating in the BPJS Employment Insurance Program that have been laid off from their previous company and are looking for another job.

The program entails the provision of cash assistance for six months as well as access to information on job opportunities and job training. The cash assistance provided is 45 percent of their salary for the first three months and 25 percent of the salary for the fourth until sixth month.

Provisions regarding implementation of the social security program for workers are contained in Government Regulation Number 37 of 2021 on implementation of the Job Loss Insurance Program.
