Property developer Agung Sedayu Group said it has gifted 2020 Olympic gold medalists Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu properties worth Rp7.1 billion (around US$494 thousand) in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta.
According to a statement issued by the company on Friday, it has gifted two homes in Pasir Putih Residences, Villa 5, Sanur 1 Street, Pantai Indah Kapuk 2, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta, to the players. Each house is valued at Rp3.55 billion, it informed.
“With the houses facing the lake and clubhouse, we hope Polii and Rahayu will be more motivated and can enjoy the days at home with a cozy environment after a tiring practice,” PIK 2 CEO Richard Halim Kusuma said.
Pasir Putih Residences is a planned housing cluster covering approximately 150 hectares and located around a lake spanning 16.2 hectares, he informed.
The lakeside development also offers parks, gazebos, waterplay areas for children, a jogging track, a 2.5-km bicycle track, and other facilities, he added.
“Come on, young Indonesian athletes, be vigorous, and exemplify your seniors Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu. Rest assured, that every struggle will surely bear fruit,” Agung Sedayu Group CEO Steven Kusumo remarked.
The homes are not the only gifts Polii and Rahayu have been bequeathed.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, provincial government, and city/district government are also planning to gift homes as well as cash to the two players.
The central government has said it will give a bonus of Rp5 billion (almost US$350 thousand) to each of the players, while the local government has said it will gift them a home each.
Several other private sector players have also rewarded the women’s doubles champions. The head of Juragan99 gave Rp500 million each to them, while online motor taxi company Grab Indonesia awarded them Rp1 billion. Others offered business premises and beauty treatments to the two badminton players.
