Gunman Arrested in City Center for Deadly Shooting Over Motorcycle Pawn Dispute

Bangkok: Police arrested the perpetrator of a violent shooting in the middle of the city, killing one and injuring another. The incident involved a motorcycle pawn shop.

According to Thai News Agency, Special Operations Division officers pursued 29-year-old Mr. Aduan, a suspect wanted by the Phra Khanong Criminal Court for “joint premeditated murder, joint attempted premeditated murder, joint premeditated assault, conspiracy to commit a crime punishable by death, joint possession of firearms and ammunition without a license, joint carrying of firearms in a city, village, or public road without a license, and joint firing of a firearm using explosives without reason in a city, village, or public area.” The arrest took place in front of a workers’ camp in Bueng Thong Lang Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province.

This case, the perpetrator’s behavior stems from the fact that at the beginning of May 2015, officers from Khlong Tan Police Station received a report of two men being shot to death and injured in Soi Phatthanakan 32, Suan Luang Subdistrict and District, Bangkok. Upon inspecting the area outside the fence of the shop, five .38 caliber bullet casings were found.

The mother of the deceased and her boyfriend revealed that the incident occurred because the injured man, Mr. Adul, had a problem with the perpetrators over a motorcycle pawn. The motorcycle Mr. Adul had taken from the perpetrators was seized by the finance company because the perpetrators had failed to make payments. After this, they had a fight and resolved the issue, but it didn’t work out. The perpetrators then told the deceased they would return.

Preliminary information indicates that after the dispute was resolved, around midnight, a large group of perpetrators returned to the scene, as the deceased had told them. This time, they brought more than 10 people on multiple motorcycles and stormed the motorcycle repair shop again. They then shouted for the deceased and injured to come out, then opened fire. The deceased was left with multiple bullets in his head and torso, leaving him lying in a pool of blood. This resulted in his injuries and death.

The court later approved an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Mr. Aduanan, the suspect wanted by the Phra Khanong Criminal Court. Investigative officers from the Patrol Division of the Crime Suppression Division conducted an investigation and tracked him down. They learned that the suspect had fled to Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province, after the incident. Upon investigating, they found him in front of a workers’ camp in Bueng Thong Lang Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District. They identified themselves as police officers and presented the arrest warrant to investigators at Khlong Tan Police Station. During initial questioning, the suspect denied all charges.
