Heavy Rainfall Expected in Bangkok and Surrounding Regions, Residents Advised to Exercise Caution

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding increased rainfall in various parts of Thailand, with particularly heavy rain anticipated in Bangkok, its vicinity, and the eastern region.

According to Thai News Agency, the department forecasts an escalation in rainfall over the next 24 hours. This surge in precipitation is attributed to easterly winds carrying moisture from the South China Sea to the northeast, eastern, central, and northern regions. Concurrently, a monsoon trough is affecting the upper southern region, while the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the lower southern region, and the Gulf of Thailand. Residents in these regions have been advised to stay alert to thunderstorms, potential flooding, and heavy rainfall. Precautions are recommended for those traveling through inundated areas, and carrying umbrellas or raincoats is advised for outdoor activities.

Mariners operating in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are urged to exercise caution, as waves are expected to reach approximately 1 meter in height, with areas experiencing thunderstorms seeing waves exceeding 2 meters.

As part of the regional weather forecast, thunderstorms are expected in 70% of Bangkok and surrounding areas, with some regions facing heavy to very heavy rain. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 24-25 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30-34 degrees Celsius, accompanied by southeasterly winds blowing at 10-20 km/h.

In other regions, similar weather patterns are expected, with heavy rain anticipated in specific provinces across the northern, northeastern, central, eastern, and southern regions. The public is advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as weather conditions develop.
