San Francisco – The northern province of Hung Yen, Vietnam, recently hosted an investment promotion conference in San Francisco to attract US firms’ investments in green growth, high technology, emission reduction, and agricultural produce sale. The event was attended by Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, leaders from Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City, and Bac Giang Province, and representatives from nearly 70 US firms.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Nguyen Huu Nghia, Secretary of the Hung Yen Party Committee, emphasized Hung Yen’s potential, including its strategic location, cultural values, dynamic economy, robust infrastructure, and young workforce. The province’s growth strategy focuses on industrial development with clean technologies, trade-service development with high value addition, and urban economic development. Tran Quoc Van, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, also highlighted Hung Yen’s strengths in attracting investment.
During the trip, Hung Yen signed cooperation agreements with four US partners in semiconductors, high-tech industry, farm produce sale, and waste treatment. The cooperation agreement exchange was witnessed by President Thuong and other participants at a roundtable connecting Vietnamese and US businesses.
