Hunt for young man wearing glasses who pulled out a gun and threatened to rob 4 baht of gold in the middle of a shopping mall in Udon Thani.

A lone robber with glasses stormed a gold shop, completely oblivious to the crowds of people walking by. He pretended to buy gold to give to his girlfriend before pulling out a gun and threatening to steal two 2-baht gold necklaces, worth 160,000 baht. Police closed the city to hunt for him.

Rom Pho Thong Radio Center, Udon Thani City Police Station, received a report from a gold shop employee located inside UD Town shopping mall, next to the train station, Mak Khaeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Udon Thani Province. After receiving the report, officers and relevant agencies immediately went to inspect the scene. When they arrived, they found many employees still in shock, and members of the public walking around the mall came to see the scene.

Police checked the store’s CCTV footage and found that the culprit was a man, no more than 35 years old, short, dark-skinned, wearing glasses, carrying a black backpack, a blue long-sleeved shirt, and black jeans. He pretended to choose gold and then walked out of
the store and walked back in. When he returned to choose a gold necklace, he pulled out a gun from the backpack and stole two gold necklaces weighing 2 baht each, totaling 4 baht, worth 160,000 baht. He then calmly walked out of the mall as if nothing had happened and crossed the train tracks into the darkness near the shrine of the Grandfather and Grandmother.

Ms. Chujira, 25 years old, a shop employee, said that while she was standing serving customers, a male customer came into the shop pretending to buy gold by asking to see two 2-baht gold necklaces. He then asked to take a picture, saying that he would send it to his girlfriend first, and then walked out of the shop. Not long after, he walked back and asked to see the two gold necklaces he had been looking at again. After looking at them for a while, the assailant pulled out a gun and threatened her, then took the two gold necklaces before calmly walking out of the shop as if nothing had happened.

ilized forces to urgently track down the perpetrators because it was learned that the perpetrators did not have a vehicle and walked across the railway tracks and disappeared into the darkness. Meanwhile, the patrol police and the investigation police have been tracking the perpetrators in the railway housing area, the Nong Lek community and along Nong Bua and the Pu Ya Shrine.
