Sa Kaeo: Immigration Bureau has implemented strict measures to control the movement of Thai nationals, urging those without a need to travel to refrain from leaving the country. This directive specifically targets individuals in Poipet, Cambodia, advising them to return to Thailand immediately.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Naphatphong Supaporn, chief of the Sa Kaeo Immigration Bureau, disclosed that the order was received from the Burapha Task Force and has been effective since 8:00 a.m. The directive aims to safeguard the lives and property of Thais in Poipet, recommending their prompt return to Thailand if their presence abroad is not essential.
The measures also address Thais intending to cross into Cambodia, particularly those planning to work in casinos or entertainment venues. Such crossings should be avoided unless necessary for business purposes, which would require proof of identity for permission to travel.
The military officers have communicated these measures to the Thai public, and most individuals have cooperated, recognizing the importance of their safety. It is anticipated that if the situation improves, the Burapha Force may revise the current order.
