Indonesia incessantly works towards welfare improvement for disabled

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) underlined that Indonesia continues to improve welfare and accessibility for persons with disabilities.

“Indonesia already has a National Commission for Disabilities and has also issued a number of Government Regulations and Presidential Regulations that reflect the spirit to continue to improve welfare, opportunities, and accessibility for persons with disabilities,” the president stated on his Instagram account @jokowi on Saturday.

The head of state noted that advanced development is one involving, taking into account, and also providing access for all people without exception.

In his upload on his Instagram account, the head of state included an illustration depicting people with disabilities continuing to work and achieve, with the president being among them.

In the upload, the president wished Happy International Day of Disabilities 2022 to persons with disabilities.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities or International Day of Disabilities is an international commemoration sponsored by the United Nations since 1992 and is celebrated every December 3.

This commemoration aims to develop public insight into several issues related to the lives of persons with disabilities.

The commemoration also aims to provide support for increasing the dignity, rights, and welfare of persons with disabilities.
