Indonesia and Singapore bolstered bilateral cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development.
The follow-up from the MoU inking will be a valuable support for Indonesia, specifically for the development of women’s empowerment and child protection, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga stated.
“I certainly expect that the follow-up of this MoU can be undertaken immediately through a cooperation agreement, action plan, and work program in the future,” she said in a statement, Tuesday.
Puspayoga expressed keenness to gain more knowledge regarding the violence victims’ helpline service, safe housing, and legal regulation to deter perpetrators that Singapore has.
“Much like in Singapore, technology and big data are also very important for our priority programs. We seek to learn much from the Singaporean government,” she remarked.
“This MoU becomes a historical momentum between Indonesia and Singapore, specifically on the issue of women, children, and family. This is the first time that it has been done,” she stated.
This MoU was signed by Puspayoga and Singaporean Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Mohamad on the sidelines of the CIFA Regional Symposium & MSF Asian Family Conference.
This MoU is a foundation for Indonesia and Singapore to cooperate in women’s empowerment, child protection, and family development.
This is undertaken, such as through practice sharing and information exchange, program schedule, and training program participation that the two countries conducted.
Meanwhile, according to the official website, this year’s CIFA Regional Symposium & MSF Asian Family Conference seeks to enhance knowledge on the issues that families encounter, within an Asian context.
Moreover, it explores methods to support and empower families.
