We urgently need the youth, who can work in all aspects to advance national development Jakarta (ANTARA) – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, on the sidelines of his activities at the 2023 Hannover Messe in Germany, urged Indonesian students in the country to return to Indonesia after completing their studies.Subianto, as quoted from the statement here, Monday (April 17), said that Indonesia needs contributions from accomplished youth, including Indonesian youth currently studying in Germany, to develop the country. “Study well, so you can build our nation when you return (to Indonesia). We urgently need the youth, who can work in all aspects to advance national development,” the minister told Indonesian students whom he had met in Hannover, Germany, on Sunday (April 16). During his interaction with the Indonesian students, Subianto urged them to study well and responsibly. He also recounted challenges that he had faced while studying abroad in his youth. “I understand (studying) overseas is not easy, and you are now away from your family and relatives. That is the challenge (of studying overseas). I had been in your shoes in the past, here, in the winter, and yes, with limited allowance,” the minister stated. Subianto encouraged Indonesian students to overcome challenges they faced while studying overseas and reminded them that it is a golden opportunity that they must utilize well. “Studying overseas is wonderful. I hope you all use this opportunity well,” he affirmed. During his interactions, the minister also spoke German with the Indonesian students. “I remember (German) just a little,” he stated. Responding to Subianto speak in German, one student asked him when he had learnt the language. “I learnt German in 1981. I believe you all were not yet born at that time,” Subianto replied to which the Indonesian students broke out in laughter. Concluding the interaction, Subianto agreed to the student’s request to take a photograph together. baca-jugaRelated news: Bill for protecting Indonesian students abroad worthy of review: MPRRelated news: Palestinian students are welcomed to study in Indonesia: MinistryRelated news: Ministry encouraging university students to take up entrepreneurship
