Interior Minister Dismisses Ubon Ratchathani Governor Over Budget Issues

Bangkok: The Interior Minister has unexpectedly dismissed the Governor of Ubon Ratchathani due to issues related to budget disbursement meant to support individuals affected by the Thai-Cambodian border situation. This decision was made just before a critical policy meeting at the Ministry of the Interior.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, who is currently acting as Prime Minister, announced that Governor Acting Major Adisak Noisuwan has been transferred to the Ministry of Interior. The transfer comes after it was revealed that only 55,600 baht of the designated 100 million baht had been disbursed to aid those impacted by the border issues.

Mr. Phumtham, when questioned about the permanence of this transfer, stated that further discussions would take place later. He also mentioned that the details would be reviewed, with an official order expected to be issued this morning.

Governor Adisak confirmed his attendance at the meeting but chose not to comment or engage with the media regarding the situation.
