ITB Career Center Held Talkshow Searching Career Through BTPN Acceleration Program

On Thursday (10/2/2022), ITB Career Center held a talk show with Bank BTPN regarding the acceleration program offered. This event was held online and invited two resource persons who used to be ITB students to share their experiences with participating in the BTPN acceleration program.

One of the acceleration programs at PT BTPN is the CAP (Corporate Acceleration Program). As a generalist program that is open to all students from various fields of study, participants can gain experience in various fields of work so that they gain insight into the work environment and atmosphere. There are other specialist programs that refer to specific fields such as IT.

The first session was led by Sarah Rika Jayatri Barus, an alumnus of ITB 2017 industrial engineering and a graduate of CAP batch 2 who currently works as a digital banking product manager . “Initially I joined this program because I was curious about the world of digital business ,” he said. “Since then I have started looking for opportunities to work and study in digital business and banking .”

As a CAP participant, Sarah underwent training for several months, where she learned soft skills before entering the role rotation period . This period, which is unique for the BTPN company, is the time when the participants are given roles and tasks in the project. Sarah and her team carried out a project for 5 months by interviewing and analyzing the community’s financial situation. From that experience, he is now aware of the importance of providing financial inclusion to society. Therefore, for this role rotation, he chose to be the innovation and growth product manager at Genius.

The work of innovation and growth product manager consists of exploring and analyzing the potential use of applications and developing more advanced features for user use. Sarah is happy with her current role as she has had the opportunity to study and help people in banking and business, two things she has been interested in pursuing since graduation. “The most important thing in registering for this program is seeking career aspirations and contributing to society. The second is to know each other’s strengths,” he concluded. “From CAP I got the opportunity to meet experienced mentors, find my own interests and build relationships with people.”

The next sharing session was brought by Credit Analyst Corporate Banking, Dian Putri Retnosari. As an alumnus of ITB 2018 majoring in environmental engineering, he remembers that he was confused about what field to focus on during college. He then enrolled into CAP batch 3 in the hope of developing his own potential as well as an alumni of ITB 2018 environmental engineering while trying to work in various fields.

Dian also attended an in-class program for 3 months, during which she carried out various projects. In addition to being involved in projects, Dian does research on the work environment through interviews and discussions with the community. From there, participants must make a presentation of research results as one of the criteria for CAP participants. He and other participants also participated in the “Explore Indonesia” program where they visited areas to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship to the surrounding community. From there he found his interests and future career.
