Jealous Old Man Shoots Young Wife to Death Before Pulling the Trigger to Escape Guilt

Chonburi: A 75-year-old man, consumed by jealousy, fatally shot his wife, who was significantly younger, before taking his own life. The tragic incident unfolded in Village No. 7, Khlong Kiew Subdistrict, Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the local police, forensic officers, and medical personnel from Ban Bueng Hospital responded to the scene. Inside the residence, they discovered the body of Mr. Winas, who had shot himself in the head with a shotgun while sitting on a sofa. In an adjacent room, the body of Mrs. Naphaphon, aged 41, was found with a gunshot wound to the back. A discharged shotgun shell was collected as evidence.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots on the night of the incident. A neighbor recounted hearing one shot at around 9 p.m., followed by another at 10 p.m. It is believed that Mr. Winas’s jealousy stemmed from his wife’s work schedule, as she only came home on weekends and had been less frequently home of late. An argument reportedly preceded the shooting.

The discovery of the bodies was made by Ms. B (pseudonym), who intended to pay rent to Mr. Winas. When she received no response from the couple, she entered the house and found her uncle on the sofa, surrounded by blood and a gun. Shocked by the scene, she immediately contacted the authorities to investigate.
