Bangkok: Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, reiterated the Pheu Thai Party’s unwavering commitment to its original ideology despite recent political developments involving some of its members. She emphasized that the involvement of Members of Parliament in joint press conferences with the Bhumjaithai Party will not affect the party’s core principles.
According to Thai News Agency, Jiraporn expressed her regret over former Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s brief tenure, highlighting that there were numerous policies she wished to implement. Despite the political upheaval following the Constitutional Court’s ruling, Jiraporn remains supportive of Paethongtarn’s vision and policies.
The recent ruling has introduced a political shift, prompting close monitoring of the Pheu Thai Party’s efforts in forming a new government. Coordination with the Prachachon Party has been noted as a common occurrence, as any party securing the majority of votes could potentially establish a government.
Jiraporn acknowledged that Pheu Thai MPs joining a press conference with the Bhumjaithai Party to back Anutin Charnvirakul for Prime Minister is seen as a right of the MPs. Nevertheless, she confirmed that such actions will not cause any shift in the party’s ideology.
Justice Minister Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong also confirmed his continued commitment to Pheu Thai, stating that there have been no additional negotiations concerning government formation deals.
