Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto Discuss Defense and Economic Cooperation in Jakarta

Jakarta: Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto hosted Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Jakarta, where they discussed broadening defense and economic cooperation. The meeting marked a continuation of their diplomatic engagements, as King Abdullah had previously hosted Prabowo in Amman in April.

According to Nam News Network, the discussions centered on enhancing bilateral ties in the fields of economy, defense, and trade. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono highlighted the historical friendship between Abdullah and Prabowo, rooted in their shared military backgrounds. Prabowo expressed his emotional connection to Jordan and fond memories of his time there, emphasizing his pleasure in hosting the King in Indonesia.

King Abdullah referred to Prabowo as his brother and presented him with a Jordanian royal award. He praised Prabowo’s commitment to improving the lives of Indonesians. The visit also included meetings with leaders of Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara Indonesia, further strengthening economic collaboration between the two nations.
