Keeping the Digital Space Healthy, Minister Johnny: Kominfo Take Firm Action on Illegal Platforms

Central Jakarta, Kominfo – The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology continues to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between ministries and institutions as well as partners in maintaining a healthy and productive digital space.

The Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, stated that the Ministry of Communication and Information had carried out the commitment by taking down illegal e-commerce and financial technology (fintech) platforms .

“The point is that we are also a clean digital space. If it is not clean, we will definitely take it down,” he said at the Central Jakarta Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Friday (08/04/2022).

According to Minister Johnny, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics cooperates with the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA) of the Ministry of Trade to take firm action against illegal e-commerce .

“The cooperation between Kominfo and Bapperti is close, we have done a lot of takedowns ,” he explained.

The Minister of Communication and Information hopes that the public will participate in maintaining the digital space so that it is not filled with unauthorized or illegal content or platforms.

“I certainly hope that the digital space we have prepared is not filled with illegal e-commerce , illegal fintech , no. Let’s use it for legal e-commerce to build our economy and build our digital economy,” he said.

According to Minister Johnny, currently every citizen can be more selective by using legal fintech supervised by state institutions. This will enable digital banking and develop e-commerce platforms .

“Let’s use it for legal fintech in the context of digital banking , cashless banking which is really good and provides support for our healthy economy and financing or our healthy financial sector,” he said.
