Doi Inthanon: The first day of the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail has opened on Doi Inthanon amidst cold weather conditions, with the temperature dipping to 10 degrees Celsius. Many Thai and foreign tourists have gathered since morning to explore the scenic beauty of the trail, marking the commencement of the winter tourism season on Doi Inthanon after a five-month closure for ecological recovery.
According to Thai News Agency, the reopening event was spearheaded by Mr. Kriangkrai Chaiphiset, Head of Doi Inthanon National Park, alongside Mr. Natthakorn Phattharawanon, Chom Thong District Chief. They inaugurated the Kiew Mae Pan nature study trail and awarded a prize to Ms. Rada Prae, a 29-year-old tourist from Nonthaburi, who was the first to register for the trail visit. Ms. Rada had been waiting since 4 a.m., eager to witness the re-opened beauty of Kiew Mae Pan on its first day.
Hundreds of tourists visiting the Kiew Mae Pan trail, situated at an altitude of 2,157 meters above sea level, were not disappointed.
The 3.2-kilometer route offers a diverse array of plant species, including the cloud forest that fully rejuvenates during the rainy season, and the sub-alpine grassland, a unique ecosystem characterized by strong winds and cool weather year-round. This morning, visitors also enjoyed a stunning view of a large sea of fog, providing ample opportunities for photography and lasting memories.
