Khattiya Criticizes Government Spokesman Over Anutin’s Work Order During South Korea Trip

Bangkok: Social media erupted into a heated debate as Ms. Khattiya Sawatdiphon, a party-list MP and acting deputy spokesperson for the Pheu Thai Party, publicly criticized government spokesman Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat. The criticism came after Mr. Siripong posted on social media about a recent trip to South Korea by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, highlighting the discrepancy between the flight duration and the reported work hours.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Siripong’s post remarked on the six-hour flight of Prime Minister Anutin, stating that despite this duration, orders were given for a seven-hour work period. Ms. Khattiya took to the platform X to question this claim, suggesting that the spokesperson might be confused about time zones or perhaps counting time in a “parallel dimension.”

Ms. Khattiya questioned the urgency of issuing orders, hinting at underlying issues within the government, such as ministerial resignations and ineffective policies. She suggested that the need to portray a hard-working image might be due to a lack of tangible results, further commenting on accusations against the Prime Minister’s wife regarding media harassment.

In her pointed remarks, Ms. Khattiya expressed that the public is more interested in the results of the work rather than the logistics of work orders. She emphasized that without progress, the efforts seem futile, likening the situation to a plane in perpetual flight without a landing in sight.

Mr. Siripong countered by explaining that the orders were initiated well before the flight, implying that those questioning the timeline might not fully understand the work processes involved. He criticized those who focus on appearances rather than substance, defending the Prime Minister’s work ethic and dedication.
