Bangkok: His Majesty the King has appointed Issara Seriwattanawut as the recipient of the Romanian Order of Merit.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Gazette website published a royal decree announcing permission for Mr. Isara Seriwattanawut to wear foreign decorations. His Majesty the King has graciously granted permission for Mr. Isara, who serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute and President and Co-founder of the Romanian-Thai Chamber of Commerce, to be decorated with the Order of Industrial and Commercial Merit, Officer Class, awarded by the Romanian government.
Announced on 11 September 2025, during the 10th year of the current reign, Mr. Isara’s contributions have been recognized by both Thailand and Romania. Mr. Isara currently holds multiple significant positions, including Secretary-General of the King Prajadhipok’s Institute, Acting Director of the College of Politics and Governance at the same institute, Chairman of MCOT Public Company Limited, and President of the Romanian-Thai Chamber of Commerce. His efforts in enhancing economic relations between Thailand and Romania have been acknowledged by the Romanian government. President Klaus Werner Iohannis has issued a decree bestowing the Officer-class Order of Industrial and Commercial Merit on Mr. Isara.
