Lampang: A 38-year-old man from Lampang tragically died while traveling on a tour bus returning from Korat. Fellow passengers were unaware of his condition until it was too late. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a blood infection resulting from a flesh-eating bacteria, a strain that has been prevalent in Japan.
According to Thai News Agency, the man’s relatives confirmed that he had no underlying health conditions. However, they noted that he had previously suffered from shingles, which spread to his ear, and had experienced leg swelling less than two weeks prior to his death. Medical professionals indicated that if a wound was present, the bacteria could have been transmitted, leading to tissue necrosis, particularly in individuals with compromised immune systems.
