Meteorological Department Warns of Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms in North and South Regions

Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast indicating that certain areas in the North will experience heavy rain, while some regions in the South are expected to face thunderstorms. Bangkok and its surrounding areas are anticipated to have thunderstorms affecting 30% of the region.

According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast for the next 24 hours predicts heavy rain in parts of the North and continued thunderstorms in the South. This weather pattern is attributed to a moderate southwest monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, along with a weak monsoon trough extending through northern Myanmar and northern Laos into a low-pressure cell in northern Vietnam.

Sea conditions in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are reported to be moderate. The upper Andaman Sea is experiencing waves of 1-2 meters, with areas affected by thunderstorms seeing waves exceeding 2 meters. Sailors navigating the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to exercise caution and avoid regions experiencing thunderstorms.

In Bangkok and its vicinity, thunderstorms are expected to affect 30% of the area, with temperatures ranging from 26-27 degrees Celsius at the minimum to 33-36 degrees Celsius at the maximum.
