Khon kaen: Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, the Commander of the 2nd Army Region, recently made an unannounced visit to various operational bases, bringing a unique form of encouragement to frontline soldiers by joining them in the kitchen.
According to Thai News Agency, the surprise visit by Lt. Gen. Boonsin was a morale booster for the soldiers, who were both surprised and excited to see their commander in such an informal setting. Upon his arrival, the soldiers were in the midst of preparing lunch. Lt. Gen. Boonsin expressed curiosity about their daily routine of cooking and eating together and decided to join them.
During the visit, Lt. Gen. Boonsin engaged with the soldiers by showcasing his culinary skills. He prepared papaya salad with fermented fish and fried an omelet, which he shared with the troops alongside sticky rice. The soldiers were so impressed with his culinary efforts that they affectionately dubbed the dish “Commander’s Omelet” for the day.
The visit served as a significant morale boost for the soldiers, who appreciated the commander’s hands-on approach and camaraderie.
