Manpower Ministry to hold more job fairs in 2023

Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah has said that her ministry will organize more job fairs in 2023 to bring job seekers and companies seeking new employees together.

“One of the flagships of the job market is the job fair, which we will continue promoting next year to bring together job seekers and employers,” she told Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) during a working meeting at the Parliament Complex here on Tuesday.

Job fairs are meant to optimize the job market information system and services, she informed, adding that the events will be organized in coordination with regional manpower offices.

“We also convince all stakeholders that the government is ready to face all fluctuations in the manpower sector,” the minister said.

The ministry has prepared the Siap Kerja (Ready to Work) digital ecosystem with various facilities, such as the Skillhub service to improve employment quality through training, Sertihub for professional certification, Karirhub for employment information, and Bizhub for expanding job opportunities, she informed.

The Siap Kerja ecosystem is part of the ministry’s effort to integrate manpower services under one platform, she added.

The minister has also called for support from the business and industry sectors in utilizing the platform.

“We are currently encouraging all companies and industries to join the Siap Kerja ecosystem,” Fauziyah said.

During the same meeting, she also highlighted the need to ensure ease of business to expand job opportunities.

Ease of business would encourage more investment in Indonesia, which would create new jobs for residents, she explained.

“I believe we have a good record, as in the first semester of 2022, we showcased 639,457 job vacancies,” Fauziyah added.
