Today, Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed no concern over potential removal from the Cabinet. He emphasized Thailand’s unwavering foreign policy regarding the Thai-Cambodian border, which aims to prevent confrontations and align with the Prime Minister’s directive to return to bilateral negotiations without external mediation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Maris clarified that the recall of the Thai Ambassador to Cambodia was not a diplomatic downgrade but a strategic move to discuss and establish guidelines for advancing negotiations. He asserted that diplomatic channels remain open, with no indication that talks are off the table, as inferred from statements by Cambodian leaders.
