MCOT Thai News Agency Celebrates 48 Years with Commitment to Impartial News

Bangkok: The executives and staff of the Thai News Agency, MCOT, gathered to commemorate their 48th anniversary, reaffirming their dedication to delivering accurate, neutral, and reliable news amidst a rapidly changing media landscape.

According to Thai News Agency, a ceremony was held to honor ‘Luang Pho Dam’ and Phra Phrom, revered figures among the agency’s members, marking the transition into their 49th year. The event was attended by Mr. Phatiyuth Jaisawang, Acting Director-General of MCOT Public Company Limited, and Mr. Natthaphong Phattharapong, Assistant Managing Director of the Thai News Agency, along with other executives and staff. Following the ceremony, attendees toured the production rooms of various online platform programs managed by the Tourism and Sports Editorial Team.

Mr. Phatiyut highlighted that despite the intense competition in the media industry, the Thai News Agency remains resilient. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to adapting to changes while maintaining its core principles of delivering news content that is thorough and unbiased. He stressed the importance of presenting facts without leading opinions, fostering understanding without creating conflict, particularly during sensitive social periods. The agency is focused on developing diverse content across television, online, and radio platforms, upholding professional standards of neutrality and credibility.

Established on June 16, 1977, the Thai News Agency was Thailand’s first news agency. It has since expanded its reach through radio, television, electronic, and online media, covering domestic news across 77 provinces and exchanging information globally with international cooperation groups.
