To coincide with the commemoration of the Youth Pledge on Thursday (28/10), Diponegoro University (Undip) will hold a Professor Inauguration event which will be held online and offline.

Located in the Prof. Building. Soedarto, SH, Undip Tembalang campus, Semarang, as many as 4 professors will be inaugurated, namely Prof. Dr. Dra. Turrini Yudiarti, M.Sc. from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, and three professors from the Faculty of Engineering, namely Prof. Dr. Aji Prasetyaningrum, ST, M.Sc., Prof. Dyah Hesti Wardhani, ST, MT, Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Ing. Wiwandari Handayani, ST, MT, MPS

In the stage of achieving Undip’s vision to become an excellent research university, currently Undip is entering the 5th phase (2020-2024), namely the phase of strengthening research universities. Entering this phase, Undip continues to encourage and develop research that benefits the community. For this reason, Diponegoro University provides learning opportunities to improve the quality of human resources and provides research funds for research development. This includes supporting the OPOC (One Professor One Candidate) program.

“In an effort to strengthen research universities, Undip supports all research activities carried out by the academic community. Both from the source of APBN funds, cooperation and Undip funds independently,” said Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH., M. Hum., as Undip Chancellor in an interview on Wednesday (27/10).

“Later on, Undip must be able to independently finance its research needs,” explained Prof. Yos, his nickname.

“For the field of community service, the allocation of funds also continues to increase. From the Cooperation in 2017 which amounted to Rp. 3.952 billion, in 2021 it has increased to Rp. 10.942 billion. In total, the fund for community service at Diponegoro University in 2021 was recorded at Rp. 15,765 billion,” he continued.

“Most recently, based on the achievement of the main performance indicators of universities within the Directorate General of Higher Education Kemendikbudristek Year 2020/2021, Undip is in second place with 70 achievement points, and 619 growth points and is in a high position of 10%, and gets an incentive of IDR 16 billion. “, he said.

This means that Diponegoro University has really proven capable of implementing governance based on the tri dharma of higher education which includes education, research and community service as an excellent research university.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Diponegoro University Academic Senate, Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU said that currently there are 154 active Undip professors.

Prof. Dr. Dra. Turrini Yudiarti, M.Sc. became the 26th Professor at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture. While Prof. Dr. Aji Prasetyaningrum, ST, M.Si became the 39th Professor, Prof. Dyah Hesti Wardhani, ST, MT, Ph.D. The 40th Professor and Prof. Dr. Ing. Wiwandari Handayani, ST, MT, MPS 41st Professor of the Faculty of Engineering.

While Dr. Agus Suherman, S.Pi., M.Sc., as Head of the Undip Secretariat and Protocol added that there are 4 titles of presentations that will be delivered by professors who will be inaugurated on Thursday (28/10) tomorrow.

“The inauguration ceremony for Professors will be divided into 2 stages, namely morning and afternoon,” explained Agus. Initiated by Prof. Dr. Dra. Turrini Yudiarti, M.Sc. which will describe the Exploration of Soil Fungi, Plants and Livestock to Increase Poultry Livestock Productivity in Indonesia. Followed by Prof. Dr. Aji Prasetyaningrum, ST, M.Sc. who will present the results of a research entitled Innovation of Carrageenan Management Technology for Raw Materials for Food Products and Biological Medicines Based on Seaweed Resources in the first stage.

Prof. Dyah Hesti Wardhani, ST, MT, Ph.D. will deliver a presentation entitled Development of Purification Technology and Utilization of Porang as Coating Active Substances in Food Products. Which was continued with the presentation of research results on the Operationalization of the Concept of Resilience in Urban and Regional Development Planning by Prof. Dr. Ing. Wiwandari Handayani, ST, MT, MPS in the second stage.
