Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain expected in parts of the lower Northeast, lower Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, as well as the East and South of Thailand. The department’s 24-hour weather forecast indicates that a monsoon trough is passing through these regions, while the southwest monsoon continues to influence the Andaman Sea, the lower southern region, and the Gulf of Thailand. Residents are advised to be vigilant regarding possible dangers from heavy and accumulated rain.
According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast for the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand indicates wave heights of approximately 1 meter, with waves reaching over 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Mariners are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorm-affected areas.
The forecast for the northern region predicts thunderstorms in 40% of the area, mainly affecting provinces such as Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun, with temperatures ranging between 22-35 degrees Celsius. The northeastern region will see thunderstorms in 60% of the area, with some provinces like Chaiyaphum and Khon Kaen experiencing heavy rain, and temperatures between 23-34 degrees Celsius.
In the central region, thunderstorms will cover 70% of the area, with heavy rain expected in Suphan Buri and Kanchanaburi, among others. The eastern region will experience similar conditions, with heavy rain anticipated in provinces like Nakhon Nayok and Prachinburi. Both regions will have temperatures ranging from 23-34 degrees Celsius.
The southern region’s east coast is expected to have thunderstorms in 70% of the area, affecting provinces such as Phetchaburi and Songkhla, with temperatures between 23-35 degrees Celsius. The west coast will have thunderstorms in 60% of the area, particularly in Trang and Satun, with temperatures from 23-34 degrees Celsius.
Bangkok and its surrounding areas are expected to have a 70% chance of thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. The temperature in the capital is predicted to range between 24-35 degrees Celsius.
