The northern province of Hoa Binh is known for its beautiful natural landscapes, primary forests, majestic caves and poetic lakes. Among the beautiful landscapes are terraced rice fields, most notably Mien Doi commune terraced rice fields. About 20km from the center of Lac Son district, with complex mountainous terrain and winding roads to Mien Doi commune, visitors can admire the layers of rice fields on the hillside. Visiting Mien Doi rice fields, one can enjoy the green valley, the clear gurgling stream, the fresh, cool air, the traditional stilt houses in Muong village and local people’s warm hospitality and their delicious traditional dishes. Mien Doi commune is now in the middle of the rice harvest season, with the hills slowly turning from green to golden, attracting visitors for its brilliant colours.
