Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Religious Affairs has launched the Digital Learning Center and Smart Classroom for state civil apparatus (ASN) to increase their services and skills development.”Not only that, but this platform is also provided for the general public who have been helping the ministry’s work,” Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas remarked here on Tuesday. Qoumas said the platform’s launch was a part of digital transformation efforts in all the ministry’s services. He praised the innovation carried out by the RandD and Education and Training (Litbang Diklat) Agency of the Religious Affairs Ministry. ccording to him, the existence of the platform reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing the best and fast service. The management of human resources within the ministry requires special handling because there are more than 1.8 million people working for the ministry, he said. The number includes 237 thousand civil servants. The rest are non-civil servants. “It is not easy to manage this huge amount of human resources, especially those in remote areas,” he said. He shared the results of the Professionalism and Religious Moderation Index conducted by the ministry through a Computer Assisted Test (CAT) some time ago, which shows that 40 percent of civil servants in the ministry fall into the unprofessional category. “The indicators are clear, as they did not receive regular training or competency improvement in the last two years,” he said. The Digital Learning Center and Smart Classroom will be operated through the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) method, making it able to reach tens of thousands of participants in one training. Participants can attend the training independently and get certificates without leaving their job during working hours.
