Ministry of Interior Announces Nationwide Preparations for Royal Birthday Celebrations

Bangkok: The Ministry of Interior has initiated preparations across every province to honor His Majesty the King on his upcoming birthday, scheduled for July 28, 2025. This nationwide effort aims to engage local administrative organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and the general public in a series of activities designed to express loyalty and gratitude to His Majesty.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, disclosed that the government has entrusted the ministry with the responsibility of coordinating these activities. The provinces have been directed to organize events in collaboration with the central government, ensuring that every district, state enterprise, company, and shop participates in the celebrations.

The regional activities are divided into three main components. The first involves setting up enshrined portraits of His Majesty, adorned with royal offerings, the Thai national flag, and the royal initials “?.?.?.” These displays will be complemented by yellow and white drapes and lighting at various agency premises from July 1-31, 2025. Additionally, books for signing blessings will be made available, alongside exhibitions showcasing His Majesty’s royal activities. An online platform for signing blessings will also be operational from July 15-31, 2025.

The main ceremony is scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2025, and will take place at the provincial hall or another suitable location, with the provincial governor presiding. The day will feature a series of events starting with a Buddhist chanting ceremony and alms giving at 7:00 a.m., followed by an oath-taking ceremony at 8:00 a.m. to reaffirm civil service commitment. The evening will include the presentation of royal tributes and laying of wreaths at 5:30 p.m., culminating in a candle lighting ceremony at 7:29 p.m. to offer auspicious blessings to His Majesty.

Volunteer activities aimed at public benefit and charity will also be conducted in honor of His Majesty, following the guidelines set by the Ministry of Interior’s Volunteer Work Operations and Promotion Center.
