Ministry promotes products made by independent workers at Batang Expo

Batang, Central Java The Manpower Ministry promoted innovative products made by independent workers (TKM) at the 2022 Batang Expo in Central Java on Saturday.

“This activity is a strategic means of product promotion and establishing a network of partnerships for expo participants,” special staff to the ministry, Caswiyono Rusdydie Cakrawangsa, said in Batang on Saturday.

The exhibition also aimed to empower entrepreneurs and help them expand Batang district’s job market significantly in a sustainable manner, he added.

The independent workers’ program, which was conducted by the ministry’s Directorate of Job Opportunities Development, was an entrepreneurial empowerment program intended to create entrepreneurs who can employ as many workers as possible in a massive and sustainable manner.

Forty independent worker outlets supported by the ministry participated in the event, which was hosted from December 9 to 11, 2022.

Cakrawangsa informed that they came from various parts of Pekalongan, including Batang district, Pekalongan city, and Pekalongan district.

“This independent workers brings and exhibits various products from the group’s efforts,” he explained.

In the future, Batang district will have the Batang Integrated Industrial Area (KIT), which is expected to employ many people, he said. In particular, it will require fresh graduates and those with special expertise, he added.

“So, we have provided this independent workers platform for others, such as people who are no longer of productive age or those with ordinary education so that they can still get jobs,” he said.

Next year, training on becoming independent workers will be provided in areas surrounding the Batang Integrated Industrial Area, such as Gringsing, Banyuputih, Limpung, and Subah sub-districts, Cakrawangsa informed.

“The independent workings that will be provided are clothing, laundry, food and beverage businesses, according to the needs of the people in Batang district,” he added
