Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini urged the State-Owned Bank Association (Himbara) to immediately distribute social assistance in the form of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and non-cash food assistance (BPNT).
“In the midst of a flood disaster, like what happened in several areas in West Kalimantan, I ask Himbara to immediately distribute the social aid for the beneficiaries,” Rismaharini said, Thursday.
This was based on the fact that many social aid recipients had not received their PKH or BPNT aid, including in West Kalimantan, she stated.
The social assistance can be disbursed within 2 to 3 days and handed over directly to the beneficiaries, the minister requested.
“I asked that the social aid to be immediately disbursed. Gather the recipients in one place, do not give any reason. Please find solutions so that they can receive social assistance,” she reminded.
On the occasion, Rismaharini also helped the social assistance recipients who had not received their portion, as well as helping the social assistance recipients whose ID cards were damaged to still receive their share.
Furthermore, the minister witnessed the symbolic disbursement of PKH social assistance recipients from Himbara representations.
One of the recipients, Ernawati, from Segon Village, East Pontianak, said she was happy to receive her PKH assistance which was really needed during the pandemic.
“I am very happy to be able to receive PKH assistance this morning. Thank you Minister Rismaharini. This assistance is very helpful for the family’s economy,” she remarked.
Another beneficiary from West Pontianak, Sumiati, was thankful for the social assistance. She admitted that it was the first time she had received her PKH and the Minister of Social Affairs immediately handed it over.
“Praise God, I received Rp2,947,000 PKH assistance. Thank you, Minister. I have one child in school and one toddler. This assistance is very helpful,” she said.
