Nakhon pathom: The government organized a religious ceremony to chant the Navakkhayu Samadham Buddhist mantra, offering blessings to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in celebration of her birthday on August 12, 2025. The event was held in advance on August 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom Province, and attended by monks, government officials, and the public.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony took place at the courtyard in front of the statue of Phra Sri Sakyamuni Buddhakodom in Phutthamonthon District. A total of 2,670 monks participated, including 94 Sangha leaders and senior monks from 23 provinces under the jurisdiction of the Central Sangha Chief, and 112 monks from each province.
The monastic proceedings were led by Somdej Phra Maha Ratchamangkal Muni, a member of the Sangha Supreme Council and the Chief Monk of the Central Region. He lit the victory candle, led the chanting of Buddhist prayers, delivered a congratulatory address, offered blessings, and guided a meditation session to dedicate merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.
On behalf of the laity, Mr. Suchart Tancharoen, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, presided over the ceremony. He presented royal robes to the head monk, and participants collectively offered the robes as royal merit to the monks involved in the chanting ceremony.
