More than 4,000 tons of durians from Thailand arrive at southern Chinese ports

China Cosco Shipping Corporation Co., Ltd. A cargo ship loaded with more than 4,000 tonnes of durian from Thailand arrived at Nansha Port in southern China’s Guangdong Province. On Saturday (April 15), the forecast for durian imports through southern China ports will exceed 160,000 tons.

It only takes four days for durians to be transported from Thailand to Nansha Port, with imported durians transported to the Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market in Guangzhou. Which is considered the largest agricultural distribution center in the southern China region within 2 hours, after which it will be distributed to supermarkets and fruit markets throughout China.

Guangzhou Port Group expects durian imports to the Chinese market through Nansha port this year will exceed 160,000 tonnes.

Chinese consumers’ demand for durian has increased in recent years. Nansha customs therefore took various measures. To enhance the efficiency of customs clearance of durian imports. along with establishing an international cold chain logistics project to improve the inspection capability of imported cold chain products
