Mother of Sergeant Major Thawatchai Turns Sadness into Pride Over Son’s Sacrifice

Mukdahan: The mother of ‘Sergeant Major Thawatchai’ who died in the Thai-Cambodian clashes has turned her grief into pride in her son’s service to the nation. In Mukdahan Province, the provincial governor presented royal gifts to the family of Sergeant Major Thawatchai Busapa, or Sergeant Toe, who died at the Fa Lan base (Khao Satta Som), Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, from a clash and Cambodian shelling at Hill 333.

According to Thai News Agency, the mother of Sergeant Major Thawatchai expressed that she has now changed from being sad to being proud of her son for serving the nation. In addition, the family has received the grace of His Majesty the King, which is considered a blessing for her son and the family. Her younger brother, who is currently a ranger, has not given up.

At the Huai Toei Community Hall, Tambon Si Suk Samran, Amphoe Ubonrat, Khon Kaen Province, they raised the national flag to the top of the pole and sang the Thai national anthem loudly throughout the area to show their strength and encourage all soldiers who are on duty to protect the Thai border and the people affected by the clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border. They also opened a donation point to deliver aid to officials and victims.
