Bangkok: The MRTA (MRT) announced progress on repairs to Samsen Road following the collapse. The MRTA noted no further subsidence in the Purple Line subway tunnel, and is urging contractors to continue repairs to expedite the restoration of the area.
According to Thai News Agency, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has provided an update on the repair work being conducted on Samsen Road, which recently experienced a collapse. The contractor involved is actively engaged in drilling and grouting eight holes to bolster soil stability. This procedure involves the use of low-pressure grouting equipment across the eight locations, alongside preparations for sand filling. Notably, between October 14-15, 2025, an additional 2,500 cubic meters of sand was filled, elevating the road surface by approximately two meters, yet leaving it still 4.5 meters below the original road level.
At the Sam Sen Metropolitan Police Station, a robot was employed to demolish the reinforced concrete roof. Continuous monitoring of building movement is being conducted to assess settlement levels. The MRTA, in collaboration with its contractors and related agencies, is actively monitoring, inspecting, and evaluating the conditions of the Sam Sen Police Station, the police flats, and nearby buildings to ensure safety. Efforts are ongoing across all departments to expedite the restoration process, with safety being prioritized to restore traffic surfaces swiftly.
Operations are proceeding as planned, with the MRTA confirming that no further soil or structural collapse has been detected.
