Bangkok: Mud rises on the road in Wongwian Yai area, causing residents to fear the road will collapse. Mud has emerged under the road at the construction site of the electric train on Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Road before entering Wong Wian Yai. Residents fear the ground will subside, and officials are rushing to fill it with asphalt.
According to Thai News Agency, after several days of continuous rain, this afternoon, a large amount of yellow mud appeared at the electric train construction site on Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Road before Wongwian Yai, causing traffic congestion. The area is currently under construction for the Purple Line electric train project, Tao Poon-Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Ring Road). The cause of the large amount of yellow mud is believed to be due to continuous rain over the past two to three days, which has caused water to pool under the road surface, turning the mud into mud.
Meanwhile, officials from the electric train project have brought in asphalt to fill in areas where mud has emerged, and have deployed personnel to monitor the road surface for subsidence to prevent danger to commuters.
Public relations are being requested to warn people traveling on this route to avoid or alternating routes if there is no emergency. This will reduce the risk of road accidents.
