NA Chairman Commends Organizers for Successful 9th Global Conference on Young Parliamentarians

Hanoi – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, on November 27, lauded the effective organization of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, held in Hanoi from September 14-18. The event’s success marked a significant achievement in fostering global parliamentary engagement.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the conference surpassed expectations, receiving high praise from leaders of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), as well as domestic and international delegates, for its meticulous preparation and impactful outcomes. The event not only achieved its objectives but also played a pivotal role in elevating the prestige of the Vietnamese National Assembly and showcasing Vietnam’s culture, people, and land.

Chairman Hue commended the organizing committee for their strategic choice of the conference theme: ‘The Role of Young People in Promoting the Realisation of Sustainable Development Goals via Digital Transformation and Innovations’. The discussions at the conference underscored the critical role of youth in driving sustainable development through digital innovation and transformation.

Remarkably, the conference concluded with the adoption of its first-ever statement after nine editions. This historic document reflects the determination, consensus, and strong commitment of young parliamentarians globally towards achieving sustainable development goals.

The NA Chairman also acknowledged the exemplary work of news agencies and media in disseminating information before, during, and after the conference. He praised the contributions of the organizing committee, subcommittees, the NA’s Foreign Affairs Committee, and various ministries, agencies, and localities, including Hanoi, Bac Ninh, and Quang Ninh, for their integral roles in the event’s success.

On this occasion, 13 collectives and 28 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the NA Office. Among the recipients were the Vietnam News Agency and Radio the Voice of Vietnam, recognized for their significant contributions to the conference.
