Narumon Leads Deputy Ministers in Education Reform Efforts

Bangkok: Narumon Pinyosinwat, the newly appointed Minister of Education, along with Deputy Ministers Linthiporn Warinwatcharoj and Tewan Liptapallop, made their official entry into the Ministry of Education by paying homage to various sacred objects. This gesture was followed by a meeting with the ministry’s executives, where they emphasized their commitment to building on the previous ministers’ work and collaborating closely with civil servants as a unified family.

According to Thai News Agency, the ministerial team visited several sacred sites, including the Buddha statue of the Ministry of Education and the King Rama VI Monument, as a mark of respect and to seek good fortune. The ministers then proceeded to the Ratchawallop Room in the Ratchawallop Building, where they were welcomed by key figures such as Mr. Suthep Kaengsanthia, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and other senior officials.

Minister Narumon addressed the gathered executives and civil servants, expressing her desire to avoid the term ‘policy assignment.’ Instead, she emphasized their collective goal to develop and complete ongoing projects. She assured the ministry staff that politics would not interfere with their operations, and underscored the importance of working together as one family dedicated to serving the country.

The minister highlighted the importance of teacher welfare, stressing the need to reduce workloads and improve the transfer system to boost morale. She also spoke about enhancing the quality of education by promoting basic science and teaching Thai national history and citizenship duties, aiming for these subjects to be well-integrated and widely accepted in educational materials.

Deputy Minister Linthiporn shared her insights on utilizing technology to ease teachers’ burdens and improve vocational education’s image. She emphasized the significance of vocational education in supporting the country’s industrial growth and proposed discussions with her fellow ministers and civil servants to drive this initiative forward.

Deputy Minister Tewan expressed his honor in working with the Ministry of Education and reiterated the critical role of education in national prosperity. He welcomed open communication with executives and civil servants to ensure the education system’s success and the country’s advancement.
