Bangkok: The national police chief has directed an immediate investigation into a tragic shooting at the Or Tor Kor market that claimed six lives.

According to Thai News Agency, the National Police Chief, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, has tasked the Metropolitan Police Bureau with accelerating the investigation of the shooting incident that occurred at approximately 12:31 p.m., resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including the shooter. Following the incident, authorities discovered that the perpetrator had taken his own life using the same firearm at the scene. Efforts are underway to ascertain the shooter’s identity and motive.

Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet has instructed the Metropolitan Police Bureau to thoroughly investigate all aspects of the case, collect extensive evidence, and analyze CCTV footage to uncover the truth and promptly resolve the situation. The bureau has also been directed to keep the media updated with ongoing developments in the investigation.
