Bangkok: The National Police Chief has acknowledged a violent clash in Songkhla, where officials have surrounded an insurgent group.
According to Thai News Agency, National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet confirmed the incident upon his arrival at Parliament House. He was there to attend a meeting with the House of Representatives Police Committee when reporters questioned him about the reports of violence involving officers and insurgents at Ban Huai Tao, Songkhla.
Although Police General Kittirat confirmed the clash, he refrained from providing further details, expressing his intention to prioritize attending the scheduled meeting. This acknowledgment comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, where insurgent activities have been a growing issue.
