National Police Chief Visits Injured Officers and Evacuees in Sisaket

Sisaket: The national police chief visited Sisaket and urged police to take care of people’s property. Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, the national police chief, traveled to Sri Saket Hospital to visit and give moral support to Pol. Sgt. Maj. Wachira Kusonphan, 32, who was hit by shrapnel during the Cambodian attack on civilian targets at a convenience store in Sri Saket Province. He provided both moral support and personal financial assistance to the injured officer.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Kittirat also visited an evacuation center located in a temple in Phu Yu District, Sisaket Province. Here, he provided encouragement to evacuees from Kantharalak District, who had fled to escape the ongoing conflict.

The national police chief revealed that his visit to the border provinces follows a trip to Ubon Ratchathani. He outlined the current police missions, highlighting the dual focus on frontline support by the Border Patrol Police in conjunction with the military, and rear-line efforts to safeguard the property of evacuated residents. Furthermore, he has instructed officers to be vigilant of strangers who might serve as informants for opposing forces, potentially identifying targets or strategies within Thailand.
