Natthaphong Engages Pheu Thai Party for Prime Ministerial Support

Bangkok: "Natthaphong" has reached out to the Pheu Thai Party to engage in discussions and request votes for the Prime Minister position. The Pheu Thai Party has arranged a meeting with the Prachachon Party to solicit support for Chaikasem Nitisiri, their prime ministerial candidate, to become the 32nd prime minister. Natthaphong, the leader of the Prachachon Party, has arrived at the party's headquarters.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting between the Pheu Thai Party and the Prachachon Party has been scheduled for 2:00 PM. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, currently acting as Prime Minister, will lead the Pheu Thai Party's leadership team in discussions with the Prachachon Party.

At 1:26 PM, Mr. Natthaphong Rueangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, appeared at the Prachachon Party headquarters, accompanied by Mr. Sarayut Jailak, party secretary, and Mr. Picharn Chaowapatanawong, deputy party leader. When asked by reporters if anyone had made contact the previous night, Mr. Natthaphong clarified that no such communication had occurred, including from Mr. Thaksin.

Regarding the potential success of today's discussions and concerns about criticism, Mr. Natthaphong stated, "We'll talk about it first," emphasizing the need for dialogue before the MP meeting. When questioned if the 143 members of the People's Party would vote uniformly, he reiterated that the decision would depend on the outcome of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere at the People's Party headquarters reflects a division among supporters, with some backing and others opposing the alliance with the Pheu Thai Party.
