Bangkok: An online clothing seller filed a complaint with the Crime Suppression Division police after a high-society man defaulted on her car payments and even claimed to have a police officer as his backer.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Panida, 43, owner of an online clothing business, went to file a complaint at the Crime Suppression Division after a high-society man bought a luxury car for 24 million baht but did not pay as agreed. In addition, the high-society man often boasted that he had a police officer as his backer. The victim was worried that she would be cheated, so she went to file a complaint at that time.
The incident started in June last year. Ms. Panida wanted to sell her Porsche 911 for 24 million baht. The salesperson recommended a well-known car dealership in the car dealership industry. After that, they agreed to buy and sell the car. Ms. Panida put down a down payment of 8.7 million baht. The dealership asked to pay in two installments. The first installment of 5 million baht was p
aid on June 6 last year. It has been paid. The second installment was agreed to be paid in January 2024. However, when the time came, the dealership asked to pay in installments of 1 million baht per month. Now, the year is almost over, and the remaining amount has not been paid.
Additionally, the car tent breached several contracts, such as failing to pay installments to the finance company totaling 9 million baht and paying late every installment, causing Ms. Panida to lose her credit and reputation in this area. She contacted the car tent every month but did not receive a response. They talked about transferring the car’s name since the beginning of the year until the end of the year, but she personally thought that they were not enthusiastic about this.
Ms. Panida once asked a friend in the industry who this person was and why he didn’t pay his debt. Her friend told her that he had a police officer as his backer, but she didn’t know his rank. He was a car businessman and was quite wealthy. She thought t
hat he intended not to pay the remaining money and believed that he had used her car because she had received a ticket for toll fees for 300 baht at home.
Ms. Panida traveled to the Crime Suppression Division to ask the police to help negotiate because according to the contract, he has broken several rules. If he doesn’t pay, she will ask for the car back. Right now, the car is with him, and the money has not been returned. So, she would like the police to help and gather evidence to get the car back so that there will be no complications in the future.
