Open for Applications for “Caregivers for Dependents” Over 18,000 Positions

Bangkok: The government is taking steps to care for the people in all aspects. It is accepting applications for over 18,000 “dependent care assistants” to care for over 100,000 people in communities nationwide.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sasikan Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed that the government, through the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Interior, and the National Health Security Office (NHSO), is moving forward with the hiring of 18,587 “dependent care assistants” to care for over 106,807 dependent people in communities nationwide. Local administrative organizations, including SAOs, municipalities, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and Pattaya City, are tasked with the hiring process.

Applicants must be Thai nationals and have completed the “Dependent Caregiver” training course from a government agency. They should not be government officials or regular recipients of legal compensation. The monthly salary for the position is between 5,000 and 6,000 baht for a one-year contract, with funds being transferred to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) account.

Interested persons can apply at the Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) or local municipality by September 30, 2025. “This project will not only create employment opportunities for the public, but will also significantly improve the quality of life for people with disabilities across the country, ensuring everyone receives the highest standards of care and attention from the government,” said Ms. Sasikarn.
