Over 900,000 MSME products added to LKPP’s e-catalog: minister

At least 916,392 products made by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have entered the e-catalog of the Government Goods and Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP), the Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Minister informed.

The achievement reflects a 70-percent increase compared to the figure recorded in August 2022. Meanwhile, the number of MSMEs stood at 42,405, an increase of 62 percent compared to August.

“On average, the increase in SMEs’ products is around 15 thousand every two days,” Minister Teten Masduki said in an official statement released here on Wednesday.

The minister emphasized that the government is continuing to encourage MSME players to register their products for the e-catalog.

The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs is also continuing to make efforts to boost the interest of MSME players in registering their products for the e-catalog.

One of the efforts made to boost interest has been the sending of WhatsApp and email blasts to more than 600 thousand micro and small enterprises regarding the procedures for entering the e-catalog.

In addition, the ministry has also carried out information dissemination, coaching clinics for ministries, agencies, and regional governments across the country, and held business-matching events.

President Joko Widodo has set the target of including 1 million products made by MSMEs and cooperatives in the e-catalog by the end of 2022 in a bid to push Indonesia’s economic growth.

Earlier, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita informed that his ministry is targeting to include as many as 2 million products made by small and medium industries (SMIs) in the LKPP’s e-catalog in 2023.

To reach the target, he has issued the Industry Minister’s Regulation Number 46 of 2022 concerning provisions and procedures for calculating the domestic component level (TKDN) values for small industries.

With the issuance of the regulation, small industries can self-assess the TKDN in their products to get a TKDN certificate, which is one of the requirements for including their products in the e-catalog.
