Overseas activities mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 134th birthday


Many activities have been held by overseas Vietnamese in different countries to celebrate the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – 2024). As part of the Vietnamese Week in St. Petersburg, nearly 500 people participated in a wreath laying ceremony in front of the monument to the late leader in Vyborg district on May 19. Also on May 19, the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and officials from other representative bodies of Vietnam in South Africa offered incense in commemoration of the late leader. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh coordinated with the liaison board of the Vietnamese community in this country organised a ceremony at the embassy’s headquarters on May 17 to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh’s 134th birthday. On May 19, an international workshop was held at Sejong University in Seoul, connecting Vietnamese intellectuals, students, and people living in the Republic of Korea (RoK). It aimed to emphasise the importance of creating a peaceful society.
