Surin: “Paethongtarn” along with “Jiraporn-Sudawan” went to the area to give encouragement to the people of Surin and provided necessities to those affected by the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border and urgently coordinated to help the people. The government confirmed that it will urgently resolve the situation to allow all lives to return to safety and stability as soon as possible.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, accompanied by Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitchkosol, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, were among the officials visiting the region. They were joined by Pol. Gen. Akaradech Pimolsri, Special Advisor to the Royal Thai Police, Mr. Phasakorn Boonyalak, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), and Mr. Prasop Riengngen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, as they coordinated efforts to address the ongoing challenges along the Thai-Cambodian border.
The delegation traveled to the temporary evacuation center at Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Surin Campus, to offer support and distribute essential supplies to those impacted. During their visit, they addressed the needs of approximately 40 bedridden patients receiving treatment at the first aid unit. The officials also visited the Athitaya building, home to about 1,400 evacuees, where they engaged with residents to understand their concerns and provide reassurance.
Additionally, Ms. Paethongtarn visited Surin Hospital to meet with soldiers injured in the border clashes, offering encouragement to both the injured and their families. She expressed deep respect for the dedication and sacrifice of medical professionals, law enforcement, and volunteers working tirelessly on the front lines.
Ms. Paethongtarn emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving the border crisis swiftly to ensure the safety and stability of all affected residents. She expressed her admiration for the compassion and dedication shown by the various sectors involved in relief efforts and highlighted the importance of community support during these challenging times.
