Bangkok: Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, made her way to the parliament at 9:51 a.m. for the House of Representatives meeting, where the draft law was under consideration. As she arrived, questions from the press regarding her visit and concerns about MP loyalty were met with a smile and a simple “What?” before she proceeded to the elevator.
According to Thai News Agency, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, during a coalition party dinner at the Eastin Grand Hotel, Phaya Thai, highlighted the importance of ministers maintaining a strong connection with MPs. He remarked that MPs, being close to the people, need to be well-supported to prevent them from being targeted by political adversaries. Thaksin’s comments underscore a latent concern of political backstabbing within the ranks, urging ministers to be vigilant and proactive in nurturing their relationships with MPs.
