Bangkok: “Pai” Lik, MP for Kamphaeng Phet Province from the Kla Tham Party, expressed his discomfort surrounding a dinner party involving “Ice,” “Rome,” and Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, indicating that the gathering might have involved discussions with 44 MPs concerning Section 112. This gathering has sparked a significant amount of debate on social media platforms, with “Ice” notably querying about “Pai’s” presence.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pai Lik had a conversation with Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, MP for the Prachachon Party, regarding why she didn’t live-stream the dinner event with Mr. Anutin. Mr. Pai indicated his curiosity about the discussions at the dinner, as he had heard rumors about potential government formation or other exchanges. He clarified that while his social media post might have seemed strong, it was a response to the strong comments he received.
Addressing remarks made by Ms. Rakchanok, who suggested that if his demeanor were different, he might have been appointed as a minister, Mr. Pai stated that he was not upset and was comfortable with who he is. He emphasized that his focus is on the work, and despite the initial light-hearted intentions, the strong reactions prompted a stronger stance from him.
Discussions at the dinner reportedly included topics beyond government formation, involving the 44 MPs of the Prachachon Party, which Mr. Pai mentioned could be concerning due to the involvement of several sectors. Although Ms. Rakchanok had dismissed the notion of a government being formed by “Rome and Ice” as amusing, Mr. Pai acknowledged that the presence of 44 MPs could be significant, particularly since discussions involved serious matters like Section 112 charges.
Mr. Pai also addressed the demand for transparency, stating that as a public figure, one should be clear about their discussions, especially if they involve work-related topics. He emphasized the importance of being straightforward and transparent, especially when it concerns the 44 MPs, as the public deserves clarity on such matters.
Regarding the potential impact of the social media backlash on his image, Mr. Pai dismissed any concerns, noting that his interactions are personal and based on mutual respect, regardless of gender. He reiterated that his disposition, whether perceived as good or bad, does not bother him unless it directly affects his work.
Before a budget meeting, Ms. Rakchanok was observed collecting her belongings and humorously inquiring about Mr. Pai’s whereabouts, adding a light-hearted note to the ongoing discussions.
